A bar that has been open for less than a year in a Nottinghamshire town centre has closed its doors "until further notice". Sully's Bistro Café & Bar opened on Front Street, Arnold, in July 2023.

A handwritten notice displayed in the bar's window reads "shut until further notice", while its door and windows have been covered. No reason has been given for the closure.

The bar opened on the premises of a former coffee shop - Revival Coffee Co - which closed its doors in November 2022. Residents close by previously complained about the venue's high noise levels in the summer of 2023, with Gedling Borough Council saying the situation had improved in January.

A spokesperson from Gedling Borough Council told Nottinghamshire Live at the time: "An abatement notice was served on Sully’s Bar under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 on August 17, 2023, due to loud music, and since then noise levels have improved and no further formal action has been taken yet. We are continuing to monitor the situation with all licensed premises in the area, but typically during the colder months noise levels are improved."

The bar was also met with trouble in December 2023 following reports of an assault that resulted in a victim being taken to hospital. A woman was left with a cut head and an investigation was opened.
