Arrest after fire breaks out in Tetbury Industrial Estate

A man has been arrested after a fire broke out in Gloucestershire this afternoon (Friday, November 15), severely damaging a building. The fire broke out in a premises in Tetbury, where it is suspected cannabis was being grown.

Police were called to the scene at Tetbury Industrial Estate on Cirencester Road, by the fire service around 12.45pm. Three men were seen running away before one of them was detained nearby, police has said.

Officers arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of drugs manufacture and the production of a Class B drug, namely cannabis. Police are continuing to search the area to locate the other two men. The dog unit and National Police Air Service (NPAS) are assisting, but at time of reporting, the men have not been located.

The two men police are searching for are thought to be aged in their 20s or 30s. One of the men was seen wearing a black hooded top and grey jogging bottoms. The other man was wearing black shorts and a red hooded top.

The fire service extinguished the fire but a scene guard will remain in place overnight. Extensive damage has been caused to the building and it is currently unsafe. Road closures were put in place, but have since been removed.
