Arrested Development cast members have paid tribute to their co-star Jessica Walter, who has sadly passed away at the age of 80.

Her daughter Brooke released a statement announcing her mother's death, saying that she will be "remembered by many for her wit, class and overall joie de vivre".

The statement read: "It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of my beloved mom Jessica. A working actor for over six decades, her greatest pleasure was bringing joy to others through her storytelling both on screen and off.

"While her legacy will live on through her body of work, she will also be remembered by many for her wit, class and overall joie de vivre."

Her former castmates have taken to social media to pay tribute to the actress who played Lucille Bluth in the Emmy Award-winning series. She was also the voice of Malory Archer on the animated series Archer and starred in 90210, as well as appearing in the films Play Misty for Me (1971), Grand Prix and The Group (both 1966).

Jason Bateman took to Twitter and called her "one of a kind":

"R. I. P. Jessica Walter. What an incredible career, filled with amazing performances. I will forever remember my time with her, watching her bring Lucille Bluth to life. She was one of a kind. All my love and thoughts to her family."

Will Arnett, who played Gob in the series, wrote: "Jessica Walter was a deeply talented person. We first met on a pilot in '96 and I was instantly blown away. I'm fortunate to have had a front row seat to her brilliance for 25 years. My thoughts are with her daughter Brooke and grandson Micah today. Farewell Jessica, you'll be missed."

David Cross, who played Tobias in the show, tweeted that he considered himself "privileged" to have been able to work with her:

"I just heard the shitty news about Jessica Walter an absolutely brilliant actress and amazing talent. I consider myself privileged and very lucky to have been able to work with her. Lucille Bluth is one of TV's greatest characters."
