Arrests Made at Anti-Vaccine Mandate Protest at Staten Island Sanitation Garage

Four arrests were made at a protest against the New York City vaccine mandate outside a sanitation garage in Staten Island, New York City, on November 1, police said.

According to local reports, “several individuals” were taken into police custody after some garbage trucks were blocked from entering a sanitation garage in New Springville. The New York City Police Department told Storyful four arrests were made on Monday night.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Monday that 91 percent of city workers were vaccinated as the city’s vaccine mandate came into effect, while 83 percent of sanitation workers had been vaccinated.
