Warning: this article contains major spoilers for Arrow's latest episode 'Emerald Archer'.

Arrow certainly pulled out all the stops to mark its 150th episode, bringing back a host of familiar faces as well as a big twist.

For the large part, the episode took the form of a documentary about Oliver Queen, with a number of interviews from characters past and present.

Among the stars featured were Paul Blackthorne (Quentin Lance), Willa Holland (Thea Queen), Bex Taylor-Klaus (Cindy 'Sin' Simone), Joe Dinicol (Rory 'Ragman' Regan), Caity Lotz (Sara Lance) and The Flash himself, Grant Gustin.

However, the story itself delivered a big shock for fans as vigilante hunter Chimera stole the masks of a number of our heroes.

Among them was the new Green Arrow Emiko Queen, leading Oliver to search for his sister, discovering that he had also taken the masks of Huntress and Ragman.

Emiko was saved, though later on it was revealed that searches for Huntress and Ragman had brought up nothing, suggesting that they may be gone for good. That wasn't helped by the fact that their fates were left up in the air after the episode had aired too.

However, we never see their apparent deaths on screen – and the Arrowverse has been known to bring back characters whose demises haven't been shown to viewers in the past.

Arrow airs on The CW in the US and on Sky One in the UK.
