Arsenal Could Be Missing 10 For Derby

Arsenal could be without as many as 10 injured players for the north London derby.

The Gunners host Tottenham live on Sky Sports' Super Sunday and defender Laurent Koscielny was the latest player admitted to the Arsenal treatment room after pulling out of the team's Champions League thumping at Bayern Munich due to a hip problem.

Koscielny joins nine others on Arsenal's injury list: Hector Bellerin (groin), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (hamstring), Theo Walcott (calf), Mikel Arteta (ankle/foot), Aaron Ramsey (hamstring), David Ospina (shoulder), Jack Wilshere (ankle), Tomas Rosicky (knee) and Danny Welbeck (knee).

Wenger says Koscielny has a small chance of being fit for the derby, while Ospina and Arteta are due to return to full training on Friday - but Arsenal's opponents Tottenham are not without their own injury problems.

Spurs were missing up to six players for their Thursday night Europa League tie with Anderlecht, which they won 2-1.

Of those players, Nacer Chadli (ankle/foot) and Alex Pritchard (ankle/foot) will miss the weekend fixture, while Nabil Bentaleb (ankle), Tom Carroll (knock), Clinton N'Jie (hamstring) and Danny Rose (dead leg) have a better chance of making the matchday squad.

Bentaleb is back in training but Mauricio Pochettino says he is not match fit having been out since August with an ankle injury.

Arsenal aren't the most injury-hit squad in the Premier League, though. That title goes to Newcastle who are currently without 12 players.

Steve McClaren's struggling side have Kevin Mbabu (shoulder), Massadio Haidara (muscle), Rob Elliott (thigh), Daryl Janmaat (knee), Rolando Aarons (ankle/foot), Jack Colback (knee), Tim Krul (knee), Gabriel Obertan (hamstring), Karl Darlow (ankle/foot), Steven Taylor (hamstring), Emmanuel Riviere (knee) and Curtis Good (hip) in the treatment room.

The Magpies are hopeful Janmaat, Elliott and Mbabu could return this weekend against Bournemouth.
