Arsenal stretched their unbeaten run to five games as they battled to a 0-0 draw with Brighton.

Simon Collings was at the Amex to run the rule over Arsenal…

Aaron Ramsdale 7

Had a scary moment early on when he fumbled the ball, but other than that was solid. Good save late on.

Takehiro Tomiyasu 5

He has been excellent since signing but he really struggled today, particularly in the first-half. Improved a bit after the break.

Ben White 7 | Star man

Probably Arsenal’s best defender as he returned to his old club for the first time. Made a few vital headers and blocks.

Gabriel 7

Solid, but not quite as commanding as he usually is. Won his fair share of headers, though, and improved as the game went on.

Kieran Tierney 5

Another player who just wasn’t quite at his usual best. A few errors in defence and his crossing was a little off. Frustrating.

Thomas Partey 6

A mixed bag of a performance. He was excellent at some moments - creating a great chance for Smith Rowe - then off it at other times. Broke up play nicely.

Albert Sambi Lokonga 6

Nothing spectacular, but was fairly solid after being handed a start in the absence of Granit Xhaka. Should be better for the experience.

Bukayo Saka 6

Probably one of Arsenal’s best players. Always looked the most likely to make something happen when given the chance to go at his full-back.

Martin Odegaard 4

Really struggled to get into the game and wasn’t his usual self. Touch and passing surprisingly off. Hooked just after the hour mark.

Emile Smith Rowe 6

One of Arsenal’s better players. Carried the ball well and showed plenty of industry, with and without the ball. A strong display.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 4

Just never got into the game and had a tough afternoon. Struggled to hold the ball up and barely had a sniff of a goal. Pressed hard without the ball.

Substitutes

Nicolas Pepe (Odegaard 63’) 5

Brought on to try and snatch a goal but was fairly quiet.

Alexandre Lacazette (Aubameyang 72’) 6

A handy contribution off the bench. Linked play well and gave team a focal point.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (Saka 90’) N/A

Subs not used: Leno, Cedric, Holding, Tavares, Elneny, Martinelli.
