Arsenal's Jurrien Timber has echoed Alisson Becker's concerns about the risk of player strikes in response to the packed fixture schedule, labelling it "dangerous".

The 23-year-old Dutch defender, who missed a significant part of last season due to a knee injury, also highlighted that the issue is a hot topic among his team-mates at Arsenal.

Timber made these comments as Arsenal gear up to face Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday in the newly formatted Champions League group stage, which has seen an increase from six to eight games.

Rodri, the Manchester City midfielder, had previously indicated the possibility of a players' strike before being sidelined for the season with a ruptured ACL. This sentiment was shared in Liverpool's squad as well, with goalkeeper Alisson voicing similar worries.

Ahead of the gruelling sixth game in 17 days against PSG, Timber affirmed, "To be honest, I totally agree with them,".

He further pointed out, "It's a big topic at the moment in dressing rooms, not only at City and Liverpool, but also our dressing room.

"I honestly think it's a dangerous thing. Last week we played City, and they played again two days later, and that's too much. I understand why players are complaining."

Striking a chord with the player community, Timber added, "It's a really good point. The players are speaking right now and let their voices be heard. It doesn't look like it's getting any less (busy) at the moment."

"We're just trying to be there every game to give our best, but it gets hard when the games keep coming and coming. Especially in England without having a winter break, it's really hard."

"I didn't play last season, so I'm just enjoying playing right now you won't hear me complaining but I totally understand what they're saying."

Ahead of Tuesday's clash at the Emirates, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is set to make a late call on Ben White's availability following his absence from recent matches due to a groin injury. Riccardo Calafiori's condition is also under scrutiny after he picked up a knee issue during the dramatic win over Leicester on Saturday.

The Gunners are eager to secure their maiden victory in this season's Champions League campaign, following a stalemate with Atalanta.

PSG, under the stewardship of Luis Enrique, who previously played alongside Arteta at Barcelona, have had an impressive run with six wins out of seven matches and were semi-finalists in the last Champions League season.

"They are an exceptional team," Arteta acknowledged. "We want to win and we know after the draw at Atalanta with the number of games we have it is going to be really important, but nothing will be decided tomorrow."
