Tottenham fan Chris Miller from The Fighting Cock podcast looks ahead to the north London derby...
How foolish I was back in November to get caught up in the recent results of both Tottenham and Arsenal and to forget that the form book is thrown out the window for this derby.
Spurs were coming off a win against Real Madrid and Arsenal had just been beaten 3-1 by Manchester City. I predicted a comfortable Spurs win and then endured a very uncomfortable 90 minutes, in which Arsenal held us at arm’s length, allowing us plenty of possession and not a lot else.
Offensively, Arsenal are rejuvenated (at least temporarily) by their new signings but have not addressed the same old defensive frailties which have haunted them for seasons.
The form of our attacking band should mean that we put that defence to the test and I’m confident we will score at least one, and probably more.
The gap is four points but make it seven and suddenly Arsenal will find it very difficult to finish in the top four. It’s not just bragging rights at stake.
