Arsenal starlet Emile Smith Rowe will celebrate with his mum after making history with his Gunners debut.

The 18-year-old replaced Alex Iwobi against Vorskla Poltav in the Europa League on Thursday to become the first player born after 2000 to make a competitive appearance for the club.

Smith Rowe, aged 18 years, one month and 23 days when stepping onto the pitch for the final 20 minutes, said after the game that the prized shirt will go to his mum.

"This is my first Arsenal shirt that I've worn, and it's going to go to my Mum," he told Arsenal's Instagram after the game.

He added: "It's an unbelievable feeling to even train with these players, so to come on and get the chance to play alongside them... I can't even explain how it feels.

"I join Arsenal when I was nine years old, pretty much half my life, so to make my debut is an unbelievable feeling.

"It was a crazy moment. I still can't believe that I've made my debut so I'm very happy."
