Arsene Wenger has denied suggestions Mesut Ozil is close to a move to Barcelona.

The 29-year-old is out of contract next summer and has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp as the La Liga giants seek a cheaper and easier alternative to prising Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool.

Wenger has consistently claimed speculation over the futures of Ozil and Alexis Sanchez has not affected their form in recent months and when asked whether the former had agreed terms with Barcelona, the Arsenal manager said: "No. What kind of control can I have over that [speculation]?

"All these people have agents who can talk to anybody. That doesn’t disturb people, that happens all through their career.

"I have no concerns [about their commitment]. I am more concerned about the team performance. Ozil and Alexis are praised when the team is doing well because of them, and when the team doesn’t do well they get more criticism.

"I’m more concerned that the team focuses on strong performances.

"They are honest. I don’t question their honesty. Nobody knows what will happen when the players reach the end of their contracts. Our worry is to perform on Sunday [at Burnley], that’s it."
