Arson attack sees car destroyed as police launch probe
A car was destroyed by a fire in Devon this morning (Saturday, January 11). Devon and Cornwall Police have launched an arson investigation following the blaze in Dunkeswell.
Fire crews were called to the scene shortly after 6.30am and arrived to find the vehicle well alight. They used jets, breathing apparatus, a thermal image camera and hydraulic spreaders to extinguish the blaze by 9.10am.
The fire service said the car was totally destroyed. Police officers have determined the cause to be deliberate and are now investigating.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "One fire engine was sent to deal with a report of a car on fire in Dunkeswell, Devon. On arrival crews confirmed this vehicle was well alight."
They continued: "The car was totally destroyed by fire and the cause was deliberate. The police attended and are investigating."
