Arson investigation after parked Ford Focus torched Cheltenham

An arson investigation has been launched after a parked car was set alight in Cheltenham. Investigating officers from Gloucestershire Police are appealing for information from the public.

Police said a blue Ford Focus was found on fire in Windermere Road on Sunday, November 3. Fire crews rushed to the scene and extinguished the blaze which is believed to have begun between 8.30pm and 9.45pm.

The fire service believe the blaze was started deliberately in the engine of the car. House to house and CCTV enquiries have been carried out in the area and the investigation is ongoing.

Gloucestershire Police said: "Officers would still like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw anybody acting suspiciously around the vehicle to come forward. They would also like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage which they feel is relevant.
