Arsonists torch car at Dawberry Fields skate bowl

Arsonists torched a car at a skate bowl in a Birmingham park. The burnt out wreckage was pictured at Dawberry Fields today, Tuesday, May 28.

The octopus-themed site was only painted by volunteers in Kings Heath last September. Now it has become a location for crime after the vehicle was dumped.

Locals were shocked to see the shell of a car, which appears to be a Ford Focus, over the Bank Holiday weekend. One said: "I hope it's moved soon. It's terrible that vandals would do that.

"Why would they want to leave it there of all places? It's really unsightly and a shame for the kids who want to use the park." BirminghamLive has contacted Birmingham City Council for comment.
