Asda has issued a recall for its Extra Special Sea Salt and Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps due to an undeclared allergen.

The crisps, which come in 150g packs with a best before date of September 21, 2024, contain milk that is not mentioned on the label, posing a potential health risk to those with a milk allergy. Customers are being urged to return the product to their nearest Asda store for a full refund.

Those with a milk allergy or intolerance are advised not to consume the crisps. The Food Standards Agency explained: "As a result of a packaging error, some packs contain Cheese and Onion Crisps. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents."

In its warning, Asda stated: "Asda is recalling the above best before date code of Asda Extra Special Sea Salt and Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps (150g) because packs contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. This means that the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk."

"If you have purchased Asda Extra Special Sea Salt and Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps 150g with the above best before date, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt. No other date codes are affected.", reports Chronicle Live.
