Yahoo News Asda's Bruce the Brussel Sprout cake is returning for Christmas
How do you finally get the whole family to love brussels sprouts? Make them out of delicious chocolate cake, of course. Asda's adorable Bruce the Brussel Sprout Cake captured our hearts last year and will be making a return in the spotlight this Christmas. He'll also be introducing us to his pretty wife Betty the Brussel Sprout cake!
Like many, Bruce and Betty have probably had a small lockdown wedding and now they're back to celebrate with us all this Christmas.
Made with layers of moist chocolate sponge coated in chocolate frosting, the dome-shaped cakes are encased in a beautifully smooth light green icing and surrounded with lifelike dark green leaves lifting away from the sides of the cake for a convincing brussels sprout look. Bruce and Betty's big smiles and little blushing cheeks would melt any Scrooge's heart. And of course there's one final finishing festive touch - mini Santa hats!
But, it doesn't end there. Asda has added an additional eight novelty products to the line inspired by Bruce. Included is a giant Bruce the Brussel Sprout sharing Cookie filled with chocolate chips, Bruce Cupcake Kit perfect for baking with the family and a candy floss and raspberry flavoured Bruce ice cream. Also, the Free From chocolate truffle net and Bruce the Brussel Sprout Mallow Lollies sound like cute stocking filler ideas.
With all that personality, we think Bruce and Betty will be a family favourite this Christmas!
