Ashley Park Says She’s Getting Back Into “Fighting Shape” After Health Scare, Announces Return to ‘Emily in Paris’

Ashley Park is offering another update on her recovery after dealing with a health scare.

The Emily in Paris star revealed in a Jan. 19 social media post that she suffered from a “critical septic shock” that infected “several” organs and has since been in recovery.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the actress expressed her gratitude for the supportive messages she has received since opening up about her health scare.

“I’m deeply moved and thankful for your beautiful messages of support and comfort, your personal stories of sepsis and hospitalization, and truly to every person who has reached out with love… every message has honestly boosted me into a quick and hopeful recovery,” she wrote.

When Park shared her story, Netflix had announced that Emily in Paris has gone back into production for the fourth season, sharing a photo of star Lily Collins holding the season four premiere script. It was unknown at the time if and when Park would return to the series amid her recovery.

However, Park updated fans by sharing that she has since been cleared to return to work on the series.

“I’m sorry for the delay in responses, just wanted to update that I was medically cleared to fly after responding to treatments, and am now recovering and resting in Paris where I was greeted with this incredible warm welcome from loved ones and my Emily In Paris fam,” she wrote alongside a photo of bouquets in her room. “Thank you to @netflix and @emilyinparis for their genuine kindness and gracious patience as I wait to be medically cleared to work. I couldn’t be more excited to join [them] all on set for Season 4.”

She also assured that despite working again she promises “I’m breathing through this all and taking as much care of myself as I can to get back into fighting shape. in the meantime, thanks for the couch cuddles @lilyjcollins.”
