Strictly Come Dancing star Ashley Roberts nabbed the first perfect score of the 2018 series with her jive on tonight's (November 17) Blackpool edition of the BBC One show.

One week after making judge Shirley Ballas cry, Ashley and her professional partner Pasha Kovalev stunned the judges with their dance to 'Shake Ya Tail Feather' from The Blues Brothers.

They landed right at the top of the all-important leader board with a perfect 40 out of 40, and perhaps even more impressive was Bruno Tonioli's comments that they'd made "Strictly history" with the dance.

"Nothing fishy about that. It always happens in Blackpool, there are performances that become part of Strictly history. You did just that," he told them, before later lying across the desk after giving his 10.

Even Craig Revel Horwood was full of praise, simply calling their dance "Fab-u-lous". High praise, indeed!

Darcey Bussell added that she thought it was "fast" and "fantastic", adding: "You were literally floating. It was good."

Shirley said: "You pushed the envelope. The whole thing was absolutely on form and fantastic."

And it seems like fans certainly agreed with the high praise as they shared their opinions on Twitter.

Tonight's show also saw Karen Clifton get emotional after their dance, while married couple Neil and Katya Jones finally dance together again during the opening number.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One on Saturdays and Sundays.
