Aston Villa handed injury worry as Ezri Konsa forced off for England
Aston Villa are sweating over the fitness of Enzri Konsa after the defender was forced off with an injury in England’s Nations League fixture with Finland.
The 26-year-old, earning his eighth cap, was replaced by Levi Colwill just after the hour mark after going down hurt. The nature of the issue is unclear but the defender appeared to be feeling his leg before walking off the field.
After full-time, Lee Carsley said: "Yes, I think he is [OK]. I've not had a chance to see him because I've been speaking to the press, but he looked OK when I saw him."

Villa have a busy schedule upon the return of club football this weekend. Following this Saturday’s visit of Everton, the Villans kick off their Champions League campaign against Young Boys in Switzerland on Tuesday evening. The Midlands clash with Wolves is the following weekend.
Konsa has played every minute of Villa’s season so far, all at centre-back having spent stints at right-back last term. Unai Emery might have Diego Carlos back for the Premier League clash with Everton but Tyrone Mings isn't expected to be available for selection yet.
Konsa played 50 club matches last season, missing just four matches through injury - a knee issue in February.
The 2019 signing, who remained on the England bench for Saturday’s 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland, also played seven games for his country last term, including three at Euro 2024.
Konsa was handed his fourth start for England by Carsley against Finland on Tuesday and will be vying for a place on the Three Lions squad for the 2026 World Cup.
