Aston Villa man reveals 'several options' for transfer as he speaks out on decision
Aston Villa midfielder Enzo Barrenechea turned down several loan offers to play for Valencia this season.
Unai Emery sanctioned a loan for the 23-year-old midfielder because he couldn't give him the regular minutes he needs at this stage of his career. Barrenechea has only played one season in senior football, which came last term while on loan at Frosinone.
Barrenechea only made a handful of senior appearances for Juventus before he and Samuel Iling-Junior headed for Villa in June, but despite leaving on loan, the midfielder is very much in the club's long-term plans. He won't take long to settle in Valencia given that he speaks the language and already has family in the Spanish city.

"I am very happy to be here, we have already gone through the medical examination, the signing and I am waiting for the first training session to be at the coach's disposal," Barrenechea said. "I had several options, but with my family and my agent I decided to come here, it was the best option. I want to thank Aston Villa for letting me leave and Valencia CF for having confidence in me.
"Because of the history and the number of Argentinians who have been here, I had the opportunity to visit Valencia and I love the city. It is a club with a lot of history and I love the fans.
"Just three or four weeks ago my family decided to start a new path in their life because we have always been together. I went to England, my brother plays football in Italy and my sister started university here in Valencia.
"They came to live in Valencia a few weeks ago, they are already in the apartment, and fate brought me here too.
"I have seen the squad and there are a lot of young players. I am a midfielder who can contribute to the game, I can handle both profiles, good aerial play… And my experience in Italian football. An Argentine comes to leave everything and always give his best for this club."
