Aston Villa team news vs Wolves as Unai Emery makes one change to starting XI
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has named his starting XI to take on Wolves in the Premier League this afternoon (3pm kick-off).
He has made one change from the side which started against BSC Young Boys in midweek as Diego Carlos makes his first start of the season, replacing Lamare Bogarde.
From back to front, Emi Martinez starts in front of a back four made up of, Ezri Konsa, Carlos, Pau Torres and Lucas Digne. Amadou Onana starts with compatriot Youri Tielemans in the double pivot as John McGinn plays from the right and Ramsey on the left with Morgan Rogers supporting Watkins up front.

After only losing to Arsenal in their first four league games, Villa can win their fourth match in the first five Premier League fixtures for only the fourth time. Villa beat Wolves 2-0 in their last league meeting in March last season – only in their first two such encounters in 2003-04 have they won consecutive Premier League games against them.
Wolves have won just one of their last 14 Premier League games and are winless in seven since a 2-1 win over Luton in April. It’s their longest run without a victory since a run of 12 between April and August 2022. In fact, since the start of March, Wolves have lost more games than any other Premier League side. They’ve also won fewer games and earned fewer points than any other ever present side in that time.
Villa starting XI: Martinez, Konsa, Carlos, Pau, Digne, Onana, Tielemans, McGinn, Ramsey, Rogers, Watkins.
Subs: Gauci, Nedeljkovic, Maatsen, Bogarde, Barkley, Buendia, Young, Bailey, Duran.
Wolves starting XI: Johnstone, Semedo, Dawson, Mosquera, Ait-Nouri, Gomes, Andre, Lemina, Bellegarde, Cunha, Strand Larsen.
Subs: Sa, Doherty, Bueno, Hwang, R. Gomes, Doyle, Sarabia, Forbs, Guedes.
