Aston Villa team news vs Leicester City confirmed as Unai Emery makes shock decision
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has named his starting XI to take on Leicester City in the Premier League this afternoon (3pm kick-off).
He has made one change from the side which lost 2-0 to Arsenal as Lamare Bogarde makes his first Premier League start at right-back after Matty Cash picked up a hamstring injury in last weekend's defeat at Villa Park.
Emi Martinez starts in front of a back four made up of Bogarde, Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres and Lucas Digne. Amadou Onana starts with compatriot Youri Tielemans in the double pivot as Leon Bailey plays on the right, John McGinn from the left and Morgan Rogers supports Ollie Watkins up front.

Leicester have lost just seven of their 28 Premier League meetings with Villa. However, Villa are unbeaten in their last three matches at the King Power Stadium with their two wins in those matches twice as many as they managed in their first 11 Premier League visits.
Only Man City and Arsenal have won more Premier League away games than the 15 Villa have since Emery’s first away match in charge in November 2022. Villa have also won eight of their nine league matches against promoted opposition under Emery, only dropping points in a 1-1 home draw versus Sheffield United in December 2023.
Villa XI vs Leicester: Martinez, Bogarde, Konsa, Pau, Digne, Onana, Tielemans, McGinn, Bailey, Rogers, Watkins.
Subs: Gauci, Zych, Maatsen, Nedeljkovic, Swinkels, Barkley, Buendia, Ramsey, Duran.
