Leah and Alf are still peeved they all missed out on buying the pier buildings. Soon afterwards, Ben and Maggie make their own plans for the pier buildings, including building an extra shop, which would mean making some structural changes to the Diner. Leah is unimpressed to find them in the kitchen and Ben quickly explains they're the new landlords.
Things get worse when Ben mentions the possibility of reducing the Diner kitchen, prompting Leah and Irene to blow up. When Maggie adds that the bait shop has definitely seen better days, Alf stiffens and things are suddenly very tense.
Once the Astonis leave, Irene, Alf and Leah loudly complain about their plans. Alf reassures them that if the Astonis submit a development application, he might be able to call in some favours at the council. Irene agrees, they need to be ready for a fight.
Meanwhile, Peggy admits that John reminds her of Hunter's grandfather and especially time he spent with his friend Wally who lived next door. Hunter was born the year that Wally and his family moved away. Peggy seems to realise something suddenly and gets flustered, making an excuse to leave. She returns to Irene's at night and tells Hunter that she thinks she knows who his father is.
Elsewhere, Coco and Ziggy have a row about Brody, during which Ziggy learns that he is a recovering addict.
