Astronaut Christina Koch's Dog Is Really, Really Happy She's Back From 328-Day Mission

NASA astronaut Christina Koch’s dog was literally jumping for joy upon seeing Koch after her record-breaking 328-day spaceflight.

Koch’s first space voyage set the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman, according to NASA. Koch orbited Earth 5,248 times — totaling 139 million miles — and worked on more than 200 investigations during her mission. Koch’s journey ended when she left the International Space Station and touched down on Earth in Kazakhstan on February 6.

Koch posted this footage on Twitter that shows her dog frantically pawing at the front door as Koch walks in. “Hi, baby girl!” Koch says as the dog jumps, barks, and rapidly wags her tail.

“Not sure who was more excited. Glad she remembers me after a year!” Koch said on Twitter. Credit: Christina Koch via Storyful
