Astronauts Replace Broken Antenna on International Space Station

Astronauts began a several-hour spacewalk on Thursday morning, December 2, as they set out to replace a broken antenna on the International Space Station, NASA said.

Video shows NASA astronauts Thomas H Marshburn and Kayla Barron performing the maintenance work.

The walk had originally been planned for November 30 but was rescheduled after NASA received a “debris notification” near the station.

NASA said Thursday’s spacewalk was expected to last about six and a half hours. The antenna was flown to the station 21 years ago, which NASA said made it “quite old.” Credit: NASA via Storyful
