I ate at the Yorkshire seaside chippy so good it causes traffic jams and parking wars

I tried the chippy a copper in North Yorkshire parked on yellow lines for - and I can see why!

After walking around the beach and the town centre of Redcar, I wanted to of course try something local for lunch. Recalling a recent article about a police officer taking a social media battering for parking on double yellows for his lunch break, I remembered it all happened at a chip shop called Seabreeze on Lobster Road.

With my stomach growling, I was glad that it was only an eight minute walk from the beach, but I was surprised to see that it is quite hidden away in a residential area next to some B&Bs and only a sign to show it was there. I entered the building to the glorious smell of chips being fried and was served quite quickly, as it was out of tourism season and during the week.

Looking at the board, I went with my go to order of sausage and chips. I am not a big fan of fish - so I think it is a reasonable substitution.

Everything was already cooked and ready to go, so I was handed my food not even five minutes after I had ordered. For a large sausage and chips, with batter, a bottle of Fanta and two ketchup dips, it cost £7.95 - which I thought was quite reasonable for everything I got.

Now looking for somewhere to sit, I decided to head back to my car and hide away from prying seagulls looking to swipe a chip or two off me when I'm not looking.

As I got back to my car, despite it being in a box and I tried my damndest to keep the heat in but when I sat down in my car - some of the chips were warm but not pipping hot like it was when it was being served.

Admitting fault on my behalf for not walking quick enough, I was trying to make the most of the warm food before it went too cold. After several mouthfuls of what seemed to be never-ending chips - I was sadly met with a few uncooked ones, which left an odd taste in my mouth. However, this was only a few chips, so I did not think it ruined the meal.

I am not a chef in any way or an expert on food but the chips tasted like they were made from good quality potatoes and were in the the right amount of time in the fryer and did not taste greasy. They were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside and I could not get enough of them. The sausage was a golden natural colour and I was able to get a good firm bite and hear the crunch sound at every bite. Although I am not a meat expert, I could tell that the meat was top quality as it was tasty and firm with the comforting taste of what a chippy sausage should be like.

I was quite impressed with the chippy and although it was a serious issue - I can see why someone may rush into the takeaway to grab lunch or tea!
