Atherstone comic wins BBC Weakest Link special as Romesh Ranganathan hails 'fantastic' local charity
Atherstone comic Josh Pugh triumphed in BBC1's Weakest Link special and dedicated his win to a local charity. He battled it out with Angela Barnes, Phil Wang, Laura Smyth, Ria Lina, Maisie Adam, Iain Stirling and Geoff Norcott compete to win the show and money for their chosen charity.
The episode aired on BBC 1 on Saturday night (September 28) and saw the Atherstone-based comic, who still lives locally, beat off competition from his fellow comics to be the 'strongest link'. In doing so, he won £10,600.
Presenter Romesh Ranganathan asked which charity he is going to donate the money to and he explained it would be going to Ediblelinks, a local cause which run foodbanks across the north Warwickshire and has been distributing surplus Ocado food to families in need for several years.

"It is part of the healthy living network and runs foodbanks," the comic said, to which the presenter said: "A fantastic cause."
The local comic's appearance on the popular game show is the latest on TV as he was also a presenter on Channel 4's Paris Paralympics coverage.
The Weakest Link comedian special can be watched on BBC iPlayer.
