Atkins: Government is ‘looking into’ extending school day

Minister for Safeguarding Victoria Atkins has said that the government's education recovery fund is “one part” of its work to bring schoolchildren back up to where they should be, following criticism that the pledge of £1.4 billion for the catch-up scheme doesn’t go far enough. Speaking on the matter, the MP added that the government is “very much looking into” recommendations such as extending the school day.
