Antoine Griezmann has admitted he wants to have his future sorted before he goes to this year's World Cup in Russia.

The 27-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer but he decided to instead stay in Spain where he agreed a one-year contract extension that will tie him down to Atletico Madrid until 2022.

Reports have since claimed Griezmann is wanted by Barcelona, with the club's director of sporting relations Guillermo Amor saying in December the Catalan side may have contacted the forward about a potential move to the Camp Nou.

Barcelona, however, went on to release a statement a month later denying stories in the Spanish press that claimed the club had already agreed a deal with Atletico for the France international.

It read: "FC Barcelona strongly denies the information that has appeared over the course of the last few hours in different media regarding Atlético Madrid player, Antoine Griezmann, and an alleged deal with our club.

"FC Barcelona expresses its objections in the face of these events and reiterates its full respect for the institution of Atlético Madrid."

The player, however, has now addressed his future by saying he wants it clarified before he goes to the World Cup with his nation France.

"I want to travel to Russia without this concern," he told French sports newspaper L'Equipe.

"It's not about knowing where I'll play, but about having the peace of mind if I'm still in one place or another.

"It may be boring, but I have told my sister that, whether I stay or not, this will have to be resolved beforehand [prior to the World Cup starting].

"What bothers me the most is that everyone asks me about this issue."
