Attacker hurled abuse at victim before assaulting him in Rugby street

A man was verbally abused before being attacked in the street in Rugby. Police say the victim, who has not been identified, was approached by an unknown male in St Anne’s Road.

The suspect proceeded to shout abuse at him before he assaulted him. Officers have not revealed what injuries he suffered.

But, as part of ongoing investigations into the incident, which happened on October 14, they have now launched a witness appeal. They want to hear from anyone who was in the area between 7.45pm and 8pm.

We have been made aware of an alleged assault which took place on 14 October between 7:45pm and 8pm on St Anne's Road in Rugby.

A man was approached by an unknown male who was reportedly shouting abuse at him before assaulting him.

"If you saw anything in relation to this assault, particularly if you have CCTV or dashcam footage, contact us citing Incident 302 of 14 October," a Warwickshire Police spokesperson said. "The investigating officer is PS 1416 Hickinbotham."
