Attacker on the run after serious assault in Yeovil
The person or people behind a serious attack in Yeovil on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 29, remain at large as police have confirmed no arrests have yet been made. Two people were taken to hospital after a violent assault in Raglan Terrace at around 3.30pm.
A police cordon put in place on the adjoining main road, Coronation Avenue, at its junction with Stiby Road and Westfield Road, close to the Stiby Road Co-op store.
A large emergency service response was spotted in the area, with one local reporting: "Major incident on Coronation Avenue. Road closed and heavy police presence. Please avoid area."

As of 8.30pm on Wednesday evening, police said they had no further updates on the incident, and that no arrests have yet been made, meaning the attacker is still at large.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said earlier in the afternoon: "Emergency services are at the scene of an assault in Raglan Terrace, in Yeovil, this afternoon (Wednesday 29 January).
"We received a call from the ambulance service shortly before 3.30pm reporting two people had been assaulted. Both have been taken to hospital and a scene is in place. Enquiries are ongoing."
An update on the condition of the two victims has not yet been released. Nor have their identities been confirmed by Avon and Somerset Police.
After the incident, officers set up a cordon at the junction of Coronation Avenue and Stiby Road which remains in place. Multiple police vehicles have been at the scene and forensics officers are understood to be investigating the incident.
