Attempted murder arrest after teenager stabbed in 'disorder'

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a teenager was knifed in the Black Country. The 18-year-old victim was found with stab wounds on Lucknow Road in Willenhall.

He was rushed to hospital at around 1.40pm on Thursday, May 30. Luckily, his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

The stabbing is thought to be connected to an earlier disorder in Coltham Road, police have said. They have since arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.

An 18-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of wounding. Both men are in police custody for questioning, the force added.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We've arrested two men following a stabbing in Willenhall yesterday afternoon (30 May). An 18-year-old man was found in Lucknow Road with stab wounds at just before 1.40pm.

"He was taken to hospital with injuries which were thankfully not life-threatening. Following enquiries it's understood to be connected to earlier disorder in Coltham Road.

"We acted on information and last night arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder, and an 18-year-old man on suspicion of wounding. They have been taken into custody for questioning."
