Attempted murder suspect named after man stabbed repeatedly

A suspect has been named after a man was repeatedly stabbed near to a social club. Police were called to an alleyway near to Buffs Club on Ormskirk Road in Skelmersdale at 10.54pm on Saturday, November 9.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a man in his 20s had suffered several stab injuries. A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said the man's injuries were not life-threatening. Police said it is believed to have been a targeted assault with "no wider threat to the public."

A 56-year-old man was arrested in Skelmersdale at 4.12am on Sunday, November 10. James Don, 56, of Banksbarn, Skelmersdale, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place.

He appeared at Preston Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 12 and was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on December 10. For the latest news and breaking news visit liverpoolecho.co.uk/news.
