Audi To Join Formula 1 From 2026

German manufacturer Audi will join the Formula 1 World Championship from the 2026 season.Audi - who are part of the Volkswagen Group - are joining F1 as a power unit supplier. The news comes after F1 published its new power unit regulations earlier in August. The regulations were designed specifically to make F1 more attractive to newcomers joining the sport. Audi announced its entry for 2026 at a press conference at Spa, ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix. "With the new rules, now is the right time for us to get involved. After all, Formula 1 and Audi both pursue clear sustainability goals," Markus Duesmann, Chairman of the board of management of AUDI AG. Audi will develop their power units at the Audi Sport facility in Neuburg. Adam Baker, who previously spent three years at the FIA, will run the Audi Formula 1 project as CEO.
