Audible has announced the launch of Audible stories, letting anyone, anywhere access over 200 full-length audiobooks for free for the duration of school closures. There’s no log-in or registration required and it's not a free trial. All the titles in the collection are available to stream straight from the web and there’s no limit to how much people can listen.

Sharing that "For as long as schools are closed, we're open." The stories span six languages and all stories are free to stream on your desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.

It's a great option for some family listening or extra learning during school closures, and one that gives us a much needed break from screens.

The collection is geared toward children but there are some audiobooks suitable for adults too, any many read by familiar voices, including Alice In Wonderland (read by Scarlett Johansson), Jane Eyre (read by Thandie Newton), Anne of Green Gables (Read by Rachel McAdams) and Frankenstein (read by Dan Stevens).

The platform made the announcement via social media, writing: "We wish you and your loved-ones good health and we hope that listening to a good story will offer some respite during these unsettling times."

There are stories for tiny tots, big kids, parents and everyone in between. It's all part of the global effort to pull together and support children at this time so they can, as Audible put it: "Continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids."
