Australian Joint Task Force Launches Exercises With Regional Partners

Members of the Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force had embarked on a joint operation called Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2017 on September 19.

The two-month military exercises will focus on enhancing cooperation with “some of Australia’s key regional partners including Indonesia, Japan, India, Malaysia, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Brunei, Timor-Leste, Thailand, Cambodia and the Federated States of Micronesia,” according to the navy.

The Australian Defence Force task force is the “largest joint task group that we deployed off Australia in over 40 years into the East Asian region,” according to the group’s chief of staff, Lieutenant Colonel Dan Turner. Credit: Royal Australian Navy via Storyful
