Australian Reptile Park Welcomes First Tree-Kangaroo

The Australian Reptile Park, in Somersby, New South Wales, welcomed a new addition to their zoo — their first tree-kangaroo.

The park announced the arrival of Banjo, an endangered Goodfellow’s tree-kangaroo, on January 15. According to Dean Reid, Australian Reptile Park’s Head of Mammals, Banjo is adapting well to his new home and loves to eat Hibiscus flowers, as seen in the footage.

Banjo is not on display to the public yet, but the zoo plans to bring in a female partner for him in 2019, along with a new exhibit for the pair. Credit: The Australian Reptile Park via Storyful
