Authorities Demolish Historic Miami Beachfront Hotel Deemed Unsafe

A historic Miami Beach hotel that hosted the likes of President John F Kennedy, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles was demolished on Sunday morning, November 13, after authorities deemed it unsafe.

According to local news reports, the hotel, built in 1957, was closed after an electrical fire in 2017.

Local news reported contractors spent weeks prepping the site by drilling more than 1,200 holes in the building.

Footage taken by David Vergel shows the moment of the planned implosion on Sunday.
