Authorities Rescue Residents in Northern Vietnam After Typhoon Yagi Sparks Flooding

Vietnamese authorities rescued residents from floodwaters on Monday, September 9, as the remnants of Typhoon Yagi brought heavy rain to the nation’s north.

Footage released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security shows two rescuers carrying children through chest-high floodwaters in Bac Gian province.

At least 21 people were killed and 229 others injured after Typhoon Yagi made landfall in northern Vietnam, local media reported.

The typhoon made landfall in the northern coastal provinces of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong on Saturday before moving toward Hanoi, according to Vietnam
