Avatar 3 title confirmed by James Cameron
Avatar 3's title has been officially confirmed by James Cameron to be Avatar: Fire and Ash.
After The Way of Water took things under the sea, the third film in Cameron's five-part sci-fi epic heads to the volcanic regions of Pandora, where Jake Sully and his family will find that the Na'vi who dwell there are especially unfriendly.
The late producer Jon Landau previously said that the Ash People could be this film's villains, although in a more complicated way than them just being moustache-twirlingly evil for the sake of it.

"There are good humans, and there are bad humans – the same thing on the Na'vi side – but oftentimes, people don't see themselves as bad," he said.
"What is the root cause of how they evolve into what we perceive as bad? Maybe there are other factors there that we're not aware of."
In fact, Cameron revealed that there's a second subset of Na'vi that Fire and Ash we'll be introduced to.
"You’re going to meet two completely new cultures in the next film," he said. "We met the Omaticaya, we met the Metkayina, and you’re going to meet two new cultures in the next film, and it kind of rove a little more freely around the world of Pandora to different places."

That's not the only change coming in the third film, as the narrator will change from Jake to Lo'ak, Jake's teenage son who feels like an outcast.
"Jake was our voiceover narrator for movie one and for movie two, and we have a different narrator for each of the subsequent films. We see it through the eyes of a different character," the director explained.
Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water are now streaming on Disney+.
