James Cameron is bringing back one of Avatar's key Na'vi tribe members for the sequel.

C. C. H. Pounder has signed on to reprise her role as Mo'at in all four of the filmmaker's ambitious Avatar sequels, according to Variety.

Mo'at is a spiritual guru of sorts for the Na'vi people, and wields tremendous influence within the Omaticaya clan as consort to their leader Eytukan (Wes Studi).

She is also the mother of Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), the young Na'vi tribes member who tries to bring peace between her people and the humans through her bond with Jake Sully (Sam Worthington).

C. C. H. Pounder is a decorated film and TV star, having memorably starred in Sons of Anarchy and The Shield in addition to earning Primetime Emmy Award nominations for ER and The X-Files.

Her voice is probably also familiar to many for voicing Amanda Waller in a string of DC animated TV shows and movies, including Justice League Unlimited.

In signing on for Avatar 2, Pounder will reunite with Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver - who has already said she's amazed by the ambition and scope of James Cameron's four sequels.

"It's the most ambitious project by far I've ever been involved in, and the most moving, the most astonishing, beautiful," Weaver recently said.

Avatar 2 is due for release on December 18, 2020, with 3, 4 and 5 scheduled all the way up to 2025.
