Avengers: Infinity War united practically every superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, except for Ant-Man, the Wasp and the most useful and powerful Avenger of all time... Hawkeye.

His absence was sorely felt, but now actor Jeremy Renner is teasing him picking up the bow and arrow for Avengers 4.

The actor uploaded a photo of himself looking bruised and battered to his Instagram, writing: "Not everyday begins the same...but always finish with a smile."

It's interesting that the star used the hasthag Hawkeye for the post, seeing as there are tons of rumours that Renner will be playing Clint Barton's alter ego Ronin.

Either way, the actor has promised an "awesome" role for Hawkeye/Ronin/Clint Barton. We hope so, seeing as he hasn't been since Captain America: Civil War in 2016

Renner's co-star Mark Ruffalo recently explained how Avengers 4's reshoots this month will complete the movie.

"We're doing reshoots starting in September," he said, "and then we'll go back into the international tour, we'll go on tour.

"Then you guys will get the second instalment. Which we don't even know what it's gonna be yet. We're not just doing reshoots. We're going to finish the movie, which we really didn't get to finish totally when we left it last year."

Avengers: Infinity War is available to buy on Blu-ray, DVD or digital download.

Avengers 4 will be released in the UK on April 26, 2019, and in the US on May 3, 2019.
