New Avengers Infinity War trailer becomes third most-watched trailer of all time within 24 hours

While Black Panther continues to break records — most recently becoming the most-Tweeted about movie of all time on Twitter — fans are only growing more excited for Avengers: Infinity War.

The first trailer for the “most ambitious crossover event in history” became the most viewed movie trailer of all time within 24 hours, amassing 230 million plays during that brief time period.

Unsurprisingly, the second has not managed to defeat the original, but has come close.

According to Disney and Marvel, the second barnstorming trailer managed 179 million views within 24 hours, taking the number three spot, falling behind the horror movie It — that movie managed 197 million.

Infinity War, which marks the culmination of 10 years of Marvel movies, has already set pre-sale records. According to THR, the American cinema chain reports that the Russo Brothers-directed blockbuster has become their biggest selling superhero film of all time within just 72 hours, beating previous record holder Black Panther.

Fandango also reported how the movie became the fastest-selling superhero movie within a 24 hour period, beating previous record holder Black Panther within just six hours.

Infinity War touches down 27 April.
