All she wanted was to be able to run around after her youngest child and continue playing football.

But after indulging in regular takeaways, this once-keen football player was left feeling "sluggish" and "overweight". Natasha Wilson said she could no longer run and even noticed herself feeling out of breath when she walked.

"I felt overweight and sluggish", said the 38-year-old, adding: "I wanted to lose weight to carry on playing football and to be able to run around after my youngest child."

It was then that the mum-of-two decided that she had to make a change. She joined her local Slimming World group at Arden House, in Gosforth, and despite feeling "overwhelmed" on her first visit she didn't let herself be detered from reaching her goals.

Natasha, who works as a care assistant, said: "I was quite overwhelmed on my first day as I attended alone and didn’t realise how many people were in the same position as I was."

Fast forward nine months and now Natasha has lost 3st 3lbs and slimmed from a size 20 to a size 14.

"I ate mainly takeaways before joining Slimming World. I used to have takeaways at least five times a week", said Natasha.

"Now I eat fish, meat, and a lot more vegetables than I used to. I eat everything low fat or fat free which I wouldn’t dream of doing before".

She added: "I couldn't really run before and can walk a lot longer now without being out of breath. I feel great now. My eating plan is just part of my life now and I won't go back to my old eating habits."
