Avon and Somerset Police can't answer your calls

Police have warned that they cannot answer phone calls. Avon and Somerset Police have said non-emergency calls cannot be picked up at the moment.

However they have assured the public that emergency 999 calls can be answered, thanks to neighbouring forces. They have advised that non-emergency issues are reported online.

The force posted on X - formerly Twitter: "We're experiencing an issue with our phone service preventing us answering non-emergency calls. Emergency 999 calls are being taken with help from neighbouring forces, but please only call if a genuine emergency."
