Award-winning restaurant in Cambridge shuts after 8 years in business
A popular vegan-friendly restaurant in Cambridge has announced its closure to customers. Stem & Glory, in Station Road, confirmed the news in a statement on their website.
The restaurant first opened in King Street in 2016, before moving to bigger premises in 2021. It was a hotspot among locals and won many prestigious accolades, including being crowned the best vegan-friendly restaurant in the UK at the British Restaurant Awards.
It also received glowing reviews from diners over the years, with a four-and-a-half star rating on review platform TripAdvisor. Praise was often given for its innovative vegan cuisine, with its dishes described by one reviewer as "a delicious revelation".

However, the venue confirmed it had shut its doors with immediate effect earlier this month. It said that the past few years had taken a toll on the business, but added that it had been "an absolute pleasure" to serve the city.
A statement from the restaurant on their website said: "After eight wonderful years of serving vegan food, we are very sorry to say we are now closed with immediate effect. The past few years have taken their toll on all small businesses, and for our small business, in the end it was too much to bear.
"If you had a booking with us, we are afraid that is cancelled and we will not be able to serve you. We had the most amazing team through all these years and it has been an absolute pleasure serving Cambridge."
