B&H Garden Room: First look at London’s first 'living bar' where guests can pick cocktail garnishes

B&H Garden Room: First look at London’s first 'living bar' where guests can pick cocktail garnishes

Green fingered enthusiasts and cocktail lovers alike will be thrilled with the latest addition to London’s drinking scene: a bar where guests can hand pick the ingredients for their cocktails.

Set to open on Thursday March 28, the 'living bar' – which takes over rooftop spot B&H Garden Room – will be bursting with greenery, herbs and botanicals growing on the ceilings and walls.

The ready-to-pick garnishes include lavender, orange blossom, mint, basil, lemon balm and rose petals, all of which can be used to accompany vodka and soda serves. Alternatively, guests can choose from a number of signature cocktails including the Rose Tinted Glasses, which uses vodka infused with grapefruit and rose as its base. The space itself is a partnership between the bar and the Nolet Family Distillery, who are using it to launch their new Ketel One Botanical range.

Forming part of the B&H Garden Room, the flowery bar — a first for the capital — will take centre stage in the middle of the space, with bartenders on hand to help guests create their botanical beverages.

The venture follows B&H's outdoor garden bar Beautiful Allotment, which ran last year, where guests could order drinks made with ingredients grown on site.

B&H Garden Room is the sister site of Bourne and Hollingsworth Buildings in Clerkenwell, and sits on the 10th floor of the Assembly Hotel on Charing Cross Road.
