BAng: British Airways Plane Hits Hangar

A British Airways plane has hit a hangar at Heathrow airport.

The aircraft was being towed to BA’s engineering base when its wing tip struck the building.

The Boeing 777-200 was being taken for a routine maintenance check at the time.

No one was hurt and the airport has continued to operate as normal.

BA’s engineering operations are carried out well away from areas used by passengers.

In a statement, BA said: "Our engineers are working to repair the damage. The aircraft will then be fully inspected before returning to service. Our flight schedule continues to run as planned."
