Baby-faced night prowlers spooked as they tried to break into North Staffordshire home
Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested after a gang of teenagers were spooked trying to break into a home in the middle of the night. CCTV captured the youths attempting to get inside a property in Rakeway Road, Cheadle, at 3am.
But they fled the scene empty handed. Now officers have confirmed two suspects - both aged 16 and from Cheadle and Stoke-on-Trent - are today (November 5) being held on suspicion of burglary. They will be questioned in custody.
Staffordshire Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the incident, which happened in the early hours of October 4.

Inspector Karen Cooke, from the Moorlands local policing team, said: "We have arrested two teenage boys following an attempted burglary report in Cheadle. A local police officer was approached by someone who reported that a group of young people had been spotted on CCTV trying to get inside a house near Rakeway Road at about 3am the same morning.
"Nothing was taken and the group ran away after seemingly being spooked during the act. We started work straight away to investigate what happened and to track down the suspects.
“Burglary, robbery and theft are crimes than can have lasting effects on victims, both financially and emotionally. Local officers are compiling intelligence every single day to target those stealing from the communities as robustly as possible.”
