Bachelor Peter Weber Dishes on His Six-Hour (!) Breakup with Madison Prewett

A few days after The Bachelor finale aired on ABC, Peter Weber announced that he was calling it quits with Madison Prewett. The timing seemed awfully suspicious, since the couple appeared to delay the drama for no reason. However, the 28-year-old pilot just confirmed that the days following After the Final Rose pretty much doubled as a really, really long breakup.

Weber appeared on a recent episode of Nick Viall’s podcast, The Viall Files, where he discussed season 24 of The Bachelor. When asked about his relationship with Prewett, Weber revealed that he knew it wasn’t going to work out with Prewett the moment cameras stopped rolling.

“That was tough, we left the stage together, we were supposed to do some press,” he said. “We just couldn’t do it. We just weren’t in the right headspace. She went to her hotel to talk to her family for a bit, then she came over to my hotel…that was mainly just [us] trying to be there for each other.”

Weber revealed that they spent the majority of the next day breaking up in Prewett’s hotel room.

“The second day was when we pretty much spent the entire day together,” he added. “That was, ‘OK, let’s figure this out.’ I remember going to her hotel…it was super sad. For probably six hours, we stayed on her bed there, we laughed, we cried, we hugged each other. It was rough.”

Shortly after, Weber addressed their breakup with the public. “Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further,” the former Bachelor wrote on Instagram. “Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”

Talk about a quick turnaround.
